2014 - New home, new job and some big changes to myself

I'm not sure even where to begin with 2014! I guess it has to start with moving to our new house on Tiptree Heath in January. Why did we move? Upcoming nuptials for my dad and his lovely new bride as she is now. They married in July. Anyway it is a truly amazing place to live, have never lived somewhere so big before! Also to have a brilliant step brother and an amazing dog just tops it all off!

In February, my new job started. I say new but really still working for the same company, just that the company started a new venture which has made 2014 a very hectic year. We started work at the Museum of Power which is just outside Maldon at a place called Langford. The Museum is in the buildings of a Steam Pumping Station that was in full operation between 1927 and 1963, it housed 3 Lilleshall Steam Pumping Engines which pumped literally millions of gallons of water to Southend for Human use every day.

Now only one engine remains and it is the jewel of the Museum collection which is made up of many different engines and goes through many different types of power over our history. We also have a magnificent tea room and have many event days throughout the year from Car Shows to Bike Shows and many others. They are very busy days but they are fantastic. Working at the Museum has really awaken my passion for History and education. I now run our School visits and am in the process of bringing new themes for our visits into what the Museum offers.

The Summer was good and included a brilliant birthday weekend for me with 2 very special friends who came and spent the weekend with me. My birthday coincided with a Music Festival in the grounds of the Museum and thanks to my boss I wound up on stage with everyone singing Happy Birthday to me! Highly embarrassing! My friends revelled in it and recorded it all!

Hot on the heels of my birthday came the wedding day. Luckily the weather stayed dry and although it wasn't a perfect summers day it was warm and the day couldn't have gone any better to be fair. I have never danced as much as I did that night!

The second half of the year has not only changed how I am thinking about my future and the things I need to do but it has also bought back someone who means more to me I can put into words back into my life. This time it has been amazing and beyond what I ever would have thought could happen. I have to keep myself grounded but I think we both want to work hard at ourselves to make the relationship work. Fingers crossed :) Our time together so far has included an amazing holiday to Paris and we are really looking forward to our next holiday to Center Parcs in the new year :)

With every relationship issues come up and I am pleased to say I am getting help on a weekly basis from a specialist to talk through my issues and make myself a better person. I still need to learn to drive and push myself to improve my future prospects but I will say that 2014 hasn't been all that bad!

More soon everyone!
